Dance Finder
Dance Finder

Find your dance.
Wherever you are.

Every conscious dance. One place.

The app launches soon. Be there when it does.

Almost in: check your inbox for a one-click confirm. Then we'll write when there's something worth dancing about.

Launch updates only. No noise, ever.

The Problem

You shouldn't have to work this hard to find a dance.

You land in a new city and there's a 5Rhythms wave happening four blocks from your hotel. You never find out. Back home, the workshop you'd have loved lived in a Facebook group you weren't in.

Everyone in this community has lived this. The dances are happening. The dancers just can't see them.

For Teachers

Your students are looking for you.

Travelers land in your city and don't know you exist. Dancers new to conscious movement don't know where to start. Dance Finder puts your events in front of all of them, for free.

I've been dancing for over a decade. Monday nights you'll find me on the floor at the 5Rhythms container in Santa Cruz, the same one I've danced in for years. And every time I traveled, I hit the same wall: no way to find what was dancing nearby.

So I built the tool I kept wishing existed. I funded it myself because I believe more people dancing is good for the world. It's free for dancers and free for teachers. A small 0.5 to 1% fee on ticket sales covers the ticketing infrastructure: that's the cost of keeping the lights on, not a revenue model.

I'm not asking you to join my platform. I'm inviting you to help build something that belongs to all of us.

Three things make this work.

The app is only as alive as the floor. Here's how we make it the hub, together.

1

List your events

Once your events are in, every dancer searching your area finds you. Listing is free and takes minutes.

List Your Events
2

Forward this to two teachers

Who in your network would want this? The hub gets built teacher by teacher. One message, fifteen seconds.

Copied. Now send it.
3

Announce together at launch

When the app has density, we all tell our communities at once. One coordinated moment. Critical mass.

We announce to our communities simultaneously. Every student hears it the same week.

The Story

Built by one of us.

Chris Cobb has been dancing for over a decade. Monday nights in Santa Cruz, he's on the floor at the 5Rhythms container he's danced in for years. He travels, he dances, and he kept running into the same wall: no way to find what was dancing nearby.

So he built one.

Dance Finder is a free, community-funded app that does one thing: it shows you every conscious dance event near you. It exists because more people dancing is good for the world, not because it's a good business. The small ticketing fee keeps the lights on. Everything else is a gift to the community.

This is what it looks like when a dancer builds the tool dancers actually need.

Questions, Answered Straight

What teachers ask us.

What does it cost?

Nothing. Free for dancers, free for teachers, free to list events. If you sell tickets through the app, a 0.5 to 1% fee covers the ticketing infrastructure itself. That fee is the cost of the plumbing, not a profit margin.

Do I have to use the ticketing?

No. List your events with your own ticket link, a door price, or donation-based entry. The in-app ticketing is there if you want it, never required.

Who owns my event data?

You do. Your events, your descriptions, your student relationships. Dance Finder is the bulletin board, not the landlord. Remove your listings any time.

What counts as conscious dance?

Five practices live in the app today: 5Rhythms, Open Floor, SoulMotion, Ecstatic Dance, and Contact Improv. More may join as the hub grows.

Is this a startup?

No. There are no investors, no growth targets, no exit plan. It's funded by one dancer who got tired of the problem. The goal is more people dancing, full stop.

When does it launch?

We're in the preload window now: teachers are loading their events so the app is full on day one. The public launch follows as one coordinated announcement. Join the email list above and you'll know the moment it's live.
